Soaring Giants

Blue Herons are incredible to watch when they are flying, it amazes me how effortless it looks, considering they aren’t a small bird! Having a wingspan of up to 2m certainly helps with lift off. It took a few months to finally nail this shot, getting the angle that I was looking for and the right lighting wasn’t easy, they don’t fly in command, haha. And I discovered they spend a lot of time standing motionless, so I learned patience is a must when getting photos of these beauties!
